Graduation Day!

May 23rd marked the end of the “nursing school” chapter of my life.  It was a day to remember, and I’m so glad I had friends and family there to share it with me.  The diploma is great….having another degree is great too, but having my friends and family there to celebrate with me made the day the MOST special!

Several of my classmates and I all wore green and purple ribbons on our gowns at graduation.  We made these to honor and remember Mrs. Selvester.  She meant the WORLD to so many of us, and we wanted to remember her on this day because she was so instrumental in us walking across that stage.  And for me personally, Mrs. Selvester was instrumental in me wanting to continue on in my nursing education and eventually teach!  This was the least we could do to honor her.  Spring 2010 080 Spring 2010 072 Spring 2010 076

Like I mentioned before, here are the PEOPLE who came to graduation that made it so special!!

Here’s my family!

And more family…the Foote family!  Cindy has become my big sister since I have lived in San Antonio.  I’ve always wanted a big sister, in fact, I prayed since I was a little girl that God would give me a big sister…He answered that prayer in Cindy, and I am so thankful!  Cindy and Libs came to graduation and Billy and Gracie met us for lunch afterward.

It was also really sweet to have Mrs. Selvester’s husband, her dad, and Bailey sitting with my family at graduation.  It’s no secret how big of an impact Mrs. Selvester was in my life and how important she was to this day.  I was glad they were able and willing to come out and support her students!  It meant a lot to us all!  Mom's Camera 538 Let’s not forget the friends who graduated with me and have been a blessing throughout these last two years.   Spring 2010 093

Incase you’ve made it this far and are curious…..I’m still a Fightin’ Texas Aggie through and through!  It was painful to wear the burnt orange, but somehow I made it through.  When I received my diploma, I gave everyone a big “GIG ‘EM!!”  Gig ‘em Aggies!!!!
