My family came in town to celebrate graduation weekend with me, and we had such a good time. It’s not very often that all 5 of us are in the same place at the same time anymore. I got a Spring*field XD Sub*compact 9mm as my graduation gift, and I couldn’t have been more thrilled. If you notice, my mom is holding her pink gun she got as her Mother’s Day present this year. I guess that officially makes us a “redneck” family…guns as gifts for special occasions!
We drove to Corpus one day…went to the aquarium…walked on the beach…and just hung out as a family. We had such a fun time!
Saturday evening was supposed to be the pinning ceremony for nursing school. I originally was excited about the ceremony because it’s a nursing tradition…and we all know I LOVE traditions. :) I then found out that they were going to be doing the ceremony differently than it had been done before. Long story short….I was going to have to stand up in front of people and speak into a microphone…I HATE doing things like that….got nervous…and backed out. Do I regret it? Absolutely not! There are just some things in life that aren’t worth the stress, and to me, speaking in front of people when it isn’t absolutely necessary is one of those things! No worries though, we had our own family pinning ceremony on the rooftop garage at my apartment complex where my dad pinned me. In my opinion, it will be much more memorable than the other…with so much less stress involved.
After our pinning ceremony, we had dinner with my group of friends from nursing school. I love these girls to pieces! I’m not sure how I would have managed the last two years of nursing school without them! Each of them are truly a blessing, and I’m so thankful that the Lord chose to put them in my life. All of us were excited to get our families together and celebrate our graduation from nursing school.
Graduation was the following morning, but that deserves a post in and of itself!
